Here’s my story:

The event was my brother’s wedding… and I was in charge of the bachelor party. My brother and friends all thought it would be easy for me because I was known as “the party guy” in our circle of friends.

Sure, I had thrown some fun house parties… and even made sure a couple birthday bashes were memorable in my day… but to tell you the truth…

I was totally stressed out!

You see, my brother was only planning on getting married once… and he wanted everything to be right. He was handling all the details of the wedding so it was just perfect… but of course all the planning for the bachelor party was left up to me. And I definitely wanted everything to go great.

My friends were excited too, and they expected me to come through once again and throw an awesome party. All this pressure and the worst part was…

I had no CLUE where to start!

I had never been to anyone else’s bachelor parties at the time (I was still in college and none of my friends had gotten married yet). And of course, my dad wouldn’t reveal the details of HIS party around the house (He didn’t want mom to hear!).

I had a ton of questions:

• How do I get the perfect number of guests (and who should they be?)…

• Where should we have the party?

• How long should it last so no one gets bored and everyone has fun?

• How much money does it cost to make an awesome party?

And a truckload more of questions were keeping me up at night!

That’s when I decided that no matter what I was going to make this bachelor party one my friends (and brother!) would talk about for YEARS to come…

How I Became Party “expert”

Okay, I’m not really a party “expert”. But my friends and family all think I am. Here’s why…

I really decided I was going to figure this bachelor party thing out…so I started studying about throwing a great party in general. I figured, if there’s people who make a living just planning parties—there has got to be a lot I don’t know! I got on the internet and started reading websites about party planning (a good place to start). I got some magazines, a couple books, and spent a lot of time at the library. Then I called all the party planners in my area and “milked” them for all the information I could get about throwing an awesome party.

Here’s what I found out…

It’s Easier Than You Think!

Turns out planning, promoting and throwing a great party (no matter what kind) is not complicated once you know a few basics. Some of the reasons are:

• Your friends can help you do the stuff you’re not good at (like coming up with ideas… or making sure it all sticks to budget)

• You don’t need to spend a lot of money (I was glad to find this out!)

• A good party focuses more on the guests than anything else…

And you don’t need a lot of studying to figure it all out. That’s the big secret.

In fact, what I discovered was that there are only a few guidelines, planning tricks and tactics that can have your party going off without a hitch once you know them. Here’s the problem…

There’s No Simple Guide!

I searched and searched for a good simple guide to throwing a great party. You know, a booklet that was low on fluff and just tells me what I need to know about planning a good party and making it happen. I don’t want to know how to become an event planner, hire a planner, spend money on things I don’t need, etc.

I just want to know…what are the basic tips that professional party planners know that can make throwing a fun and memorable party easy? (They’ve got to know something I don’t if they do it every day, and get paid for it!) Just teach me those tips, was what I was thinking.

I couldn’t find such a booklet.

So I compiled all my research, and it is here for you to benefit from!
